Skribit Tells Me What You Want Me to Write About

Blogging is a great way to initiate conversations around specific topics. While this provides a nice platform for interactive engagements between authors and their readers; naturally, the topics du jour are selected by the author and thus suffer from the biases of that author. Here are ZIA, I focus on topics that interest me: conflict, terrorism, statistics, computer science, and the New York Football Giants, or any intersection of this set.

I would not; however, claim to know or be aware of all topics that fall into these categories. Being fortunate enough to have the intelligent and well-informed readership that I do, I would posit that your combined knowledge of these subjects far exceeds my own—and this is something that I would like to start leveraging.

You will now notice a new widget on ZIA, appearing in the upper-left on your screen. This is Skribit, a recently beta released web app that allows bloggers to take suggestions from their readers on what to write about. Readers can type in suggestions, add links, and vote on the suggestions made by other readers (think Reddit).

For the time being, I am going to try Skribit on a trial basis, and if it has a positive impact on ZIA then it will stay. My hope is that it will provide you with an easy outlet for providing feedback or making suggestion.

Now…go on…suggest something!
